Halcyon Releases PrimeAlert Enterprise Reporter
BELLEVUE, WA - August 5, 2008 - PrimeAlert Enterprise Reporter provides centralized reporting and graphing of enterprise health, performance and utilization. It intelligently aggregates all collected metrics from Sun MC and Halcyon PrimeAlert agents and modules. Some of the key features include:
  • a comprehensive view of the health and performance of your heterogeneous IT infrastructure for fault analysis, trending or planning
  • highly configurable data frequency, granularity, retention and archiving assures matching of your reporting requirements
  • emailing of reports simplifies administrator's day-to-day operational tasks
  • report management capabilities including default graphs, report/graph templates and web-based interface facilitate ease of use
This new product supports Solaris on SPARC & x86/x64 platforms, Sun Management Center 3.5-4.0.


Halcyon Releases PrimeAlert for Java Virtual Machines (JVM)
BELLEVUE, WA - April 10, 2008 - PrimeAlert for Java Virtual Machines (JVM) monitors key JVM metrics, such as memory usage (heap/non-heap, memory pools), garbage collection and threading, to ensure the health and performance of JVM's are optimal. The module also watches the Java process to ensure continuous operation. Furthermore, it provides the ability to remotely monitor JVM's.

This new product supports Solaris on SPARC & x86/x64 platforms, Sun Management Center 3.5-4.0, and PrimeAlert Neuron.


Halcyon Releases PrimeAlert for Sun Application Server
Toronto, Canada - April 8, 2008 - PrimeAlert for Sun Application Server monitors the health, performance, and resource metrics for Sun Application Server containers, application instances, and related services. This module provides visibility to EJB pool and cache statistics, JDBC connection pool statistics, ORB thread pool statistics, Java Transaction Services statistics, HTTP server statistics, server processes and server logs. It also provides key metrics on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) that Sun Application Server runs on.

This release adds enhancements to the module such as total HTTP requests and support for Sun Application Server 9.x and PrimeAlert Neuron.


Halcyon Releases PrimeAlert for Sun Web Server
Toronto, Canada - April 7, 2008 - PrimeAlert for Sun Web Server gives insight to the performance and health of Sun Web Server by providing metrics such as traffic, queue and cache statistics. It also monitors key processes and system resource utilization, as well as scanning log files for exception messages.

This release adds support for Sun Web Server 7.0 and Sun Management Center 4.0.


Halcyon Releases PrimeAlert for Oracle 2.1.0 B & PrimeAlert for Oracle RAC 1.1.0 A
BELLEVUE, WA - March 11, 2008 - PrimeAlert for Oracle monitors the health and performance of Oracle database servers. The module monitors availability, database resources such as tablespaces, locks and connections, as well as Oracle processes and logs. PrimeAlert for Oracle RAC extends the monitoring capabilities to monitor Oracle RAC servers.

This release adds support for Sun Management Center 4.0 and Solaris 10 zones.


Halcyon Releases PrimeAlert for Brocade Switch 1.1.0
BELLEVUE, WA - March 10, 2008 - PrimeAlert for Brocade Switch monitors the health of Brocade switches. The module monitors the status of the overall system including sensors, interswitch links, ports, port traffic, port errors, loop initializations, the switch events table and the end devices.

This release adds support for Sun Management Center 4.0, Solaris on the x86/x64 platforms and Solaris 10 zones.


Halcyon Releases PrimeAlert for Hitachi Storage 1.1.0
BELLEVUE, WA - March 7, 2008 - PrimeAlert for Hitachi Storage provides fault and performance metrics for Hitachi's Freedom Storage(TM) and the Lightning 9900(TM) Series storage solutions. PrimeAlert for Hitachi Storage allows storage administrators to be able to concentrate on core tasks and competencies by proactively monitoring key hardware components such as fans, power supplies, processors, etc. and translating cryptic SNMP traps to readable system information messages. Potential problems are easily identified and can be corrected before they become critical issues. PrimeAlert for Hitachi Storage allows companies and IT departments to confidently deliver and meet service level agreements for critical storage resources.

Halcyon Releases PrimeAlert for DB2 1.0.0
Toronto, Canada - Jan 24, 2008 - With the release of PrimeAlert for DB2, Halcyon continues to expand its portfolio to meet the needs of its customers. This module monitors the health and statistics of a DB2 database. Database resources such as processes, connections, bufferpools, locks, memory and database activities are all monitored.

This new product supports DB2 8.x-9.x, Solaris on SPARC & x86/x64 platforms, Sun Management Center 3.5-4.0, and PrimeAlert Neuron.


Halcyon Releases PrimeAlert Reporter 2.2.0
Toronto, Canada - Jan 18, 2008 - PrimeAlert Reporter allows Sun Management Center administrators to collect and view historical data for any monitored object. A very feature rich web interface (WebPortal) is provided to manage and view graphs in addition to a simple command line utility that can be used to run batch jobs for exporting data for use in capacity planning tools.

This release provides support for Sun Management Center 4.0.


Halcyon Releases PrimeAlert for Sybase 2.2.0
BELLEVUE, WA - Dec 20, 2007 - PrimeAlert for Sybase monitors not only Sybase databases and their transaction logs, but also the physical resources they depend on. The health of Sybase kernel processes, identification of blocked tables and prolonged user transactions, and size statistics for specific database objects are all tracked.

This release adds support for Sybase ASE 15, Sun Management Center 4.0, Solaris on the x86/x64 platforms, Solaris 10 zones, and PrimeAlert Neuron.

Halcyon releases Historical Reporting for Microsoft Windows Systems

Halcyon Releases BMC PATROL Enterprise Manager Integration for Sun Management Center.
TORONTO, Canada - Feb 03, 2006 - Halcyon's release of the PrimeAlert Adapter for BMC PATROL Enterprise Manager now allows Sun Management Center events to be forwarded to PATROL for a single enterprise console view.
