Product Overview
Halcyon's Neuron Configuration Manager tracks changes in your IT environment to ensure all systems match approved baselines, and to speed the root cause analysis of application failures. Using agentless technology, Configuration Manager continuously tracks a wide range of configuration metrics on all supported systems, and notifies operations staff of changes in key values such as physical memory size, CPU shares, virtual memory caps and more. This extends to alterations that may be made as part of hardware refesh cycles (architecure or hardware model) as well as to values unique to Oracle Solaris Zones or Oracle VM for SPARC.

The Neuron Configuration manager provides a web-based user interface for the creation and a analysis of system snapshots, allowing admins to easily compare physical or virtual server loadouts to approved "golden images", other systems, or historical baselines. It also offers a highly configurable command-line analysis engine that can export inventory information for entire environments, or automate the generation of PDF compliance reports with scheduled email delivery.


Live and Historical Configuration
Systems can be compared to an unlimited number of reference or historical configurations, allowing users to easily see how approved or unapproved change has affected a server over time. This is especially important for virtualized systems where resource caps are often changed on-the-fly, with potentially damaging effects to the applications inside. In addition, thresholds can be set to alarm on configuration changes to alert administrators on any variance.


Comprehensive Snapshot Management
Snapshots can easily be created from the web-based UI, or from the command-line interface. By allowing users to compare multiple snapshots at the same time, Halcyon makes it simple to create configuration timelines: quickly pinpointing major changes that correspond with application outages.


Compliance Report
On-demand, schedulable and optional email-delivered compliance reports enable user to quickly and easily identify systems that are different from the baseline. It provides flexibility in the granularity of compliance data with three levels of reporting (summary, asset-detail, metric-detail).
