After installation the web-based user interface can be accessed by pointing the web browser to the installation host and the port that has been specified during installation. An example URL is: http://host:port/ereporter.

In order to login the user must be configured in the /etc/passwd, /etc/group, and /etc/shadow files. Additionally, the user must be part of at least one of the following groups:

  • eruser - regular user without administrative privileges
  • eroper - user with administrative privileges of objects owned by the user
  • eradmin - user with administrative privileges of objects owned by any user

If the user is already a member of the Sun MC groups then the user is allowed to login as well. The Sun MC groups are mapped to Enterprise Reporter groups as follows:

  • esops - Sun MC operators are mapped to eroper
  • esadm - Sun MC administrators are mapped to eradmin
