Domain ManagementThe PrimeAlert WebPortal provides the ability to create a topology of managed nodes, with the following three levels:
Domains contain zero or more groups, and can also contain zero or more hosts at the root of the domain. Groups contain zero or more hosts, and zero or more nested groups. Hosts represent the agents on individual managed nodes. For configuration of Groups and Hosts, see Group Management and Host Management, respectively. Domains can be created to organize managed nodes according to either their physical location or to a logical grouping, such as their functional role. The Domain Manager, shown below, is used to create and delete domains, and to set a user's Home Domain.
Adding a DomainTo add a domain, click the Add New... button in the Domain Manager. You are prompted for the name of the domain. After entering the name in the field provided and clicking OK, the new domain will appear in the Domain Manager, and also in the picklist of the Domain Bar. Deleting a DomainTo delete a domain, select the domain to delete in the Domain Manager, then click the Delete button. After clicking OK in the confirmation window, the domain will be removed from the list. Setting A User's Home DomainTo set your Home Domain, select the domain in the Domain Manager, then click the Set Home button. The domain will then appear with the text (Home) appended to it. The WebPortal will navigate to that domain whenever you log in, or when you click the Home button in the Navigation Bar. |
