Overview

Alarm Actions are configured for a single managed object using the Attribute Editor. They are scripts that are run on the agent host when the managed object issues an event after a change in its alarm state.

PrimeAlert EventAction introduces EventActions, which extend the functionality of Alarm Actions. EventActions are configured and managed centrally on the server. An EventAction contains a set of event filters, as well as an action to be run on the server host when an event matches the filters.

EventActions can provide email notification of the event details or can run a customized script. Such scripts could take corrective actions or could provide some other notification function such as sending a page or issuing an SNMP trap to other Enterprise Management software packages.
