Overview |
| The PrimeAlert EventLogAlert module can be used to monitor
Windows event logs. Several of these log files may be scanned
by loading multiple PrimeAlert EventLogAlert modules in
PrimeAlert agents. Patterns may be added, removed and
edited in the module without having to restart it or the
agent into which it has been loaded. |
| Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 offer three types of event logs: |
- System: Contains events that are specific to the
Windows system.
- Application: Contains events that concern Windows
applications.
- Security: Contains events that are important to
the security of the Windows system.
|
| Windows Server 2003 R2 and above offers two additional event logs: |
- ForwardedEvents: Contains events that have been
forwarded from remote Windows computers.
- HardwareEvents: Contains hardware events that have
been generated locally by the Intelligent Platform
Management Interface (IPMI).
