Overview

The Halcyon Neuron Agent is a lightweight, fully featured stand-alone agent that monitors the health, performance, and availability of heterogeneous platforms and mission critical business applications.

Neuron Agents can be used either independently or easily integrated with third party frameworks to significantly improve efficiency, increase service levels, and reduce costs associated with supporting, managing, and maintaining mission critical systems and services.

The Neuron Agent can be configured to monitor just about anything running on a server through the use of Halcyon PrimeAlert(R) modules. Several health and performance monitoring modules are bundled with the Neuron Agent and many other plug-in modules are available for monitoring popular datacenter infrastructure including storage, networking devices, databases, and applications. Alarm thresholds can be defined to kick off automated corrective actions via scripts for problems detected.

The Neuron Agent includes a universal email and SNMP trap notification that facilitates integration with third party management frameworks. In addition, management software can be leveraged to directly access Neuron Agent data via SNMP.
