Overview
======================================================================
Halcyon Neuron Integration for Sun Management Center integrates hardware
faults and operating system health events from Sun Management Center
with popular Enterprise Management Frameworks (EMFs). When combined
with the Halcyon Neuron Integration for Sun Ops Center solution,
organizations can leverage the Sun Ops Center software to gain
visibility into the health of their Sun Management Center monitored
environment.

Sun Management Center Server Adapter Description
======================================================================
This approach provides integration between Sun Management Center and
Halcyon Neuron Core. All the Sun MC alarms from all Sun MC
agents linked to a given Sun MC server will be forwarded into the
Halcyon Neuron Core.
This approach requires the presence of a Sun MC Server. Halcyon
PrimeAlert for Sun Management Center must be installed and loaded
on that server. Please see README.install for installation details.
Sun Management Center Agent Adapter Description
======================================================================
This approach provides integration between individual Sun Management
Center agents and the Halcyon Neuron Core, without the need for
the Sun MC server layer. Only alarms raised by the individual agent
will be forwarded into the Halcyon Neuron Core and only alarms
originating from hardware and operating system modules (Common Config
Reader, Kernel Reader) will be properly represented. To use this
approach, each Sun MC agent being integrated with will need to be
configured individually (see README.install).
To have alarms from non-hardware or non-OS modules integrated with
Halcyon Neuron Core, please use the Sun Management Server Adapter
(as noted above), or load the module into Halcyon's Neuron Agent
(separate installation).

x86/x64 Solaris 2.10
Note: Halcyon officially supports the versions listed above as the
product was tested against these releases. It is possible
that the product may function correctly with other versions.

Integration Configuration Files

Each adapter will install it's configuration files in the
/[LOCALDIR]/conf/module directory.
The following configuration files may be installed and available for
modification:
SunMCServerAdapter.xml - Parameters that control access to the
Sun Management Center Server that are
required to obtain Sun MC events.
SunMCAgentAdapter.xml - Control of the SNMP Community string
used to communicate with the integrated
Sun MC Agents.

Without purchasing a license, the Halcyon Neuron Integration for Sun
Management Center will only operate for a trial period of 30 days
from installation.
