Course Description
This course is a comprehensive introduction to Sun's
most advanced systems management software. Developed and taught by
Halcyon, the co-developer of Sun Management Center technology, this
course has been delivered to Sun professional services and system engineers,
as well as Fortune 500 companies worldwide for the past 5 years.
Beginning with an overview and the key features
of Sun Management Center, the course provides general information
to those participants not familiar with Sun Management Center. From
there, participants are guided through the installation and setup
of Sun Management Center. Large scale deployments as well as development to production
deployment paradigms are also discussed. Participants also learn
how to use Sun Management Center by creating and managing domains,
navigating topologies, loading modules, monitoring hardware, customizing
alarm attributes and alarm actions, graphing data values, and managing
alarms. This course also discusses all the available Sun Management Center
addons and integrations steping through each individual module. A deeper
understanding of the product is provided by disclosing the architectural details.
Currently Halcyon is offering Fundamentals of Sun Management
Center as a 4 or 5 day
course. The 5 day course extends the standard 4 day course outline to include the
Sun Management Center Developer Environment and discusses the details of module building.
To reinforce the contents of the lectures,
participants are encouraged to complete hands-on lab exercises.
