The latest release of Sun Management Center is 4.0. It can be downloaded from the following URL:

02. What patches are currently available for Sun Management Center?

03. Is Sun Management Center really free?
Yes, Sun Management Center is now available for free as of version 3.6. However, the product must be purchased to obtain any support from Sun.

04. Does Halcyon provide any add-ons or plug-ins for Sun N1 System Manager?
No. At this time Halcyon does have any add-ons for N1 System Manager.

05. Can Sun Management Center agents forward SNMP traps directly into 3rd party enterprise frameworks such as IBM Tivoli or HP Openview?
No. Sun Management Center (Sun MC) agents are not designed to send out SNMP traps to anything other than the Sun MC server. However, the Sun MC server does have the capability to send out SNMP traps when configured with the Halcyon PrimeAlert EventAction product.

06. Can the Sun MC server be installed on a Solaris 10 zone?
Yes, Sun Management Center version 3.6.1 supports running the server component on a Solaris 10 zone. However, the zone must be a whole root zone (not sparse) and only SPARC systems currently support the Sun MC server.

07. Can Sun MC be installed on a Solaris x86 or Linux systems?
Yes and No. Currently the Sun MC server can only be installed on the SPARC platform. However Sun MC agents can be installed on both the Solaris x86 and Linux platforms for monitoring and reporting purposes.

08. There are so many confusing short forms for Sun Management Center, what is the official acronym?
We agree, we have seen or heard many including "Sun MC", "SunMC", and "SMC". The most commonly used is "Sun MC".
